PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The past decade has witnessed unparalleled advances in the treatment of prostate cancer, evidenced by the rapid expansion of treatment options, particularly in the metastatic setting, from one agent to six, and several in clinical development. The clinical benefit of these advances has been a steady decline in the prevalence of prostate cancer and increase in survival. Despite this progress, unmet medical needs persist for the 161,360 new cases of prostate cancer and 26,730 deaths estimated in 2017. Although the therapeutic options have significantly increased in the past decade, metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) remains very challenging to treat.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:Explore key features of mCRPC and non-metastatic CRPC (nm-CRPC)Apply evidence-based practices consistent with guideline recommendations and expert consensus to optimize mCRPC and nm-CRPC treatmentEvaluate the efficacy and safety of new and emerging treatments for mCRPC and nm-CRPC
