PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
HIV incidence continues to steadily increase among groups that have historically been disproportionately affected. Gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (MSM) represent approximately 4% of the entire US population yet are the group most affected by new HIV infections. Black and Hispanic/Latino MSM, in particular, still face a hugely disproportionate risk for HIV infection relative to that of other populations. While prevention strategies are critical in halting the spread of HIV infection, such interventions are currently not being utilized effectively, as disparities continue to persist. This activity involves an example of a Hispanic/Latino MSM who presents for care after a recent sexual encounter.
