Over the course of four 30-minute webinars, experts will address knowledge and competency gaps regarding heart failure (HF) management and treatment. The series of topics include:I. Assessment and Diagnosis of Patients at Risk for HFII. Treatment of HFrEF in the Cardiometabolic PatientIII. Management of HF in Special PopulationsIV. Coordination of Care: HF Patient Follow-upPatient cases will be presented to demonstrate the utilization of recommended guidelines for the management and treatment of HF, and the individualization of HF treatment in complex patients, including those patients who are African American and have CKD.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:Identify patients who would benefit from hypertensive treatment based on risk profile, underlying comorbidities, and recommended guidelines and evidence-based clinical trialsExplain how to develop hypertensive treatment regimens based on recommended treatment guidelines and the benefits and risks of currently available pharmacotherapiesDiscuss treatment in patients with HF based on recommended guidelines, patient-risk profiles, comorbidities, and the benefits and risks of currently available pharmacotherapiesDescribe when it is necessary to call for a cardiology consult or refer a patient to a cardiologist to optimize patient outcomes
