PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This activity demonstrates use and the application of the Rome IV criteria for the diagnosis and evidence-based treatment approaches for patients with irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea (IBS-D), irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C), chronic idiopathic constipation (CIC), and/or opioid-induced constipation (OIC). The diagnostic algorithms are outlined. Evidence for new and emerging agents are highlighted and discussion between primary care and gastroenterology faculty provides practical experience on the management of patients with these functional gastrointestinal (GI) disorders.
